Rules of procedure for internet studies

The Al-Isbaah Institute is specialised in teaching Arabic language and Quran and its different subjects.

The Institute is not dedicated to any political purpose and is not responsible for any activity that contradicts the Quran and Sunnah.

The student is expected to display good Islamic behaviour, behaviour befitting a student of science, and to be respectful of the teachers and the administration. And if a problem arises, the student must inform the administration so that the problem can be solved in the best way.

The Administration reserves the right to exclude a student from the Institute without prior notice after observing bad behaviour towards one of the teachers or members of the Administration.

In order to validate his enrolment, the student must pay the enrolment fee for the level in which he/she was admitted before entering the class.

The institute does not authorise the exchange of personal details between the student and the employed teacher.

If the student intends to stop after the session, he must inform us, otherwise the courses will continue as usual, and a new session will start even if the payment has not yet been made.

The material

Each student must ensure that his or her equipment is working properly before each course by doing the following

– Check that the webcam, microphone and headphones are connected.

– Close programs that are not related to the course (especially programs that use audio-video such as messenger or others).

– Wifi is not recommended (because of the risk of disconnection), please use a cable to connect to the internet.

Time slots

The student will have to choose a time slot among the free green slots, which are mentioned on the website under the heading “teacher availability”.

During the course of the student’s learning, the student can change the time slot by contacting the administration. Our team will do everything possible to satisfy the student’s request, however we cannot be held responsible for lost days if the teachers are not available in the time requested by the student.

During the course of the student’s learning, the institute may ask the student to change the time slot if a teacher has to stop or if one of the prayers fits into the chosen time slot.

In the case of a temporary stop, the chosen time slot will be automatically lost and the student will have to choose another time slot once he returns.

General organisation of studies

It is compulsory for the student to complete all assignments given by the teacher.

It is forbidden for the student to speak about any other science than Arabic during the course of the course, nor is it permitted to speak in any other language than literary Arabic, except in case of major necessity.

The student must observe a behaviour in conformity with Islam with the teachers and the administration.

Attendance and absences

  1. Late arrivals

The student must attend classes regularly and not be late for the agreed appointment, and must inform the administration of any delay as well as the teacher. If the student is late by more than 15 minutes, the course will be automatically cancelled and the number of days will be deducted. If the teacher arrives more than 5 minutes late, the student must inform the administration so that this time can be calculated and made up at the end of the level. However, a delay of 5 minutes or less is not counted. If the teacher is late, the student must wait a quarter of an hour before disconnecting, otherwise the lesson will be counted as an absence.

  2. Absences

The student is not allowed to be absent without having informed the administration at least 24 hours before the course, nor is he allowed to inform the teacher directly. Any unjustified absence will be deducted from the student’s number of days. Each student is allowed to be absent with justification, during the month, for a number of days equivalent to the number of days studied per week, beyond that, any absence will be deducted from the number of days of the student, except in the case of a temporary stop for which the student will have notified the administration one week in advance. For example
A student who has 2 days of classes per week will only be allowed to be absent with justification for 2 days per one month session. Any absence on the part of the teacher will be made up on another day of the week, or will be made up at the end of the session.

  3. Temporary break

If the student wishes to take a prolonged break, i.e.: 3 days or more, this is not considered as an absence, but as a temporary break, and he should inform the administration one week in advance, knowing that :
    – He will no longer have priority on the timetable at which he was studying when he resumes classes.
    – He will no longer have priority over the teacher with whom he was studying.
    – He will not have priority over the teacher with whom he was studying, but will be credited with the days remaining to be studied for a period of 3 months. Once this period has elapsed, the student will not be able to catch up on the remaining courses.
    – If the student does not give one week’s notice, the remaining days of study will be lost.

Payment

Payment must be made before the start of the new session, but we allow a maximum of 7 days’ delay after the student has been notified.

If you intend to stop, you must inform us before the start of the new session, otherwise the courses will continue as normal, and you will have to pay for the whole session even if you have only studied one day or if you did not attend the first course.

The organisation of examinations

It is compulsory for the student to take an exam after completing a session or a book, otherwise the student will not be counted among those who have studied that level or book.

The student is not allowed to be absent on the day of the examination except after notifying the administration and presenting a valid reason, the validity of which is judged by the administration.

The student will then be required to sit the examination at a later date. Otherwise, it will be impossible for the student to receive any document from the institute (diploma, administrative document…).

It is imperative that the student obtains more than 60% in order to be allowed to progress to a higher level book, otherwise he will be obliged to repeat the level.

If the student wishes to obtain a diploma, which attests to his level, he must obtain a mark of over 80% and the teacher’s permission attesting that the student deserves the diploma in question.
